The Young Structural Engineers workshop held at Perth College was a fantastic opportunity for students to unleash their creativity. They explored structural design theory, focusing on the forces of compression, span, and tension. From the Bridge Build to the thrilling Egg Drop Challenge, students tackled the task of creating effective designs with limited materials, sharpening their critical and creative thinking skills and preparing them for real-world problem-solving. We were especially impressed by the weight capacity of the bridges, reflecting the outstanding design skills of each group.#engineeringextravaganza #structuraldesign #perthcollege #giftededucation ... They also tested their skills by deducing age and height from hand x-rays and footprints, and exploring the differences between human and animal bones. A huge thank you to Christina and Charlotte from the Centre for Forensic Anthropology at the University of WA for their expert guidance and for helping make the day a success! ... See MoreSee Less
